Our Story

From the moment our parents began our own journey of education through homeschooling, we have been constantly enthralled by the beauty of the world around us! As we fell in love with the joys of education, a dream started to take form in our minds - a dream of creating a place where we could inspire the same wonder and curiosity in others that was awakened in us during our education. Our love for children comes largely from being surrounded by our six siblings - whom we absolutely adore! Our love for learning comes from our incredible parents, especially our mother, whose love of education has always been so contagious. Our hope is to instill in our students a lifelong love of learning, and we are so excited to be able to include you, and your families, on this journey!

Meet the creators of Wonder in the Wild!

Elizabeth is the oldest of eight children - a true dreamer and adventurer! Although home and family are her heartbeat, she is always delighted by happily unexpected moments, especially if they involve delving into classic literature, anything to do with nature, or grabbing a treat at a local cafe! Besides being a teacher, her roll at Wonder in the Wild is photographer, social media director, and curriculum co-writer.

Lauren is passionate about creating beautiful moments, places, and things, especially in education! She is the practical type, with lists, ideas, and so much creativity! She can often be found drinking tea; listening to audiobooks, and watercoloring all things nature. She also loves planning new business idea strategies, and analyzing ways to organize impossible spaces… Just for fun. As well as being a teacher, she writes and creates curriculum and runs the business side of Wonder in the Wild.

“Our aim in education is to give a full life. We owe it to them to initiate an immense number of interests. Life should be all living, and not merely a tedious passing of time; not all doing or all feeling or all thinking - the strain would be too great - but all living; that is to say, we should be in touch wherever we go, whatever we hear, whatever we see, with some manner of vital interest.”
